Education:
Ognjen Simic, nickname Oggie, since elementary school showed the strong interest in science and nature. It led him to study the science and to take technical classes in prestige technical high school in the country to become degreed electrician. He continued to study the science and engineering. First, he graduated from the Rock Valley College with associate in science degree and became one of the best students in the college. He is recipient of Phi Theta Kappa reward and became recognized for the academic excellence by International Honor Society the world largest association of college honor students. Then, Ognjen was nominated for The National Dean’s List 2005-2006, the most prestigious award in the country dedicated of recognizing academic excellence among college students. This is honor reserved for only 1/2 of 1% nation’s college students. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with bachelors degree in Civil and Materials Engineering.
Experience:
Ognjen worked on various projects and designs. He worked for the major construction building company in Chicago by overseeing and supervising the construction of residential four story building in Chicago’s uptown neighborhood. Work with individual contractors in order to optimize the related work and to met required deadlines.
He received two design project sponsorships. First, design of pedestrian bridge, to better, faster and safer connect Metra customers to the blue line. He was responsible for the structural analysis of the overall bridge structure and components.
Second, gusset plate ANSYS analysis. At the time we all knew the Minnesota bridge I-35W over the Mississippi River collapsed in 2007 because of major structural failure of undersized gusset plate. Therefore, Ognjen was performing modeling and analysis of steel gusset plate by applying the tensile loads to better understand the structural failure of the bridge.
Ognjen has performed numerous home inspections across the Greater Chicago Area and knows construction inside and out. He is the home inspector you can rely on.
